Historical Notes

Inaugurated on 21st May 2017 by Archbishop Dominic Jala, SDB, Holy Cross Parish was formed by bifurcating Rangblang Parish. Dedicated to Our Lady of Sorrows, it was established to reach the economically weaker communities in the peripheral regions of South West Khasi Hills.

Initial Parish Scope (2017):

• 33 Villages & 638 Catholic Families
• Total Catholic Population: 4,014
• 1 Secondary & 17 UP/LP Schools

Fr. Roy Paul Thalackan, CSC served as the first Parish Priest, followed by Fr. Suresh Kagoo in 2018. Under the CSC mission, the parish has become a center for spiritual growth and community development.
