Presentation Parish Nonghyllam was inaugurated on 26th April 1992 by Most Rev Hubert D Rosario, DD. SDB, then Archbishop of Shillong. Entrusted to the Claretian Missionaries (CMF), the parish has been part of the Nongstoin Diocese since 2005.
As one of the most remote parishes in the diocese, it covers 35 villages across vast terrain, serving around 9,647 faithful. Missionaries face significant challenges, often traveling on foot through thick forests and mountains to reach isolated communities. The mission focuses on Catechesis, Education, and Healthcare, providing essential services through hostels and a dispensary in collaboration with the MSMHC sisters.
